2019
This work conceals a Buddha statue inside a birthday cake and invites passers-by to consume the cake collectively until the sculpture is gradually revealed. Faith is embedded within an act of consumption, while the Buddha becomes a kind of reward mechanism uncovered through participation. As the cake is continuously cut, eaten, and consumed, viewers take part in a collective unveiling of the sacred. The work explores how ritual, desire, consumption, and belief become intertwined within contemporary social structures.
